Voltimum marketing manager Damir Pletikosa recently gave a presentation to a number of electrical contractors at the recent NECA conference in the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Damir presented on the topic of product compliance and introduced the campaign that Voltimum and NECA have jointly launched titled ‘Does it Comply?’
The campaign aims to:
- Create awareness of dangers of installing electrical product that is not compliant to Australian Standards
- Educate users of how to identify non-compliant product
- Ensure that all non-compliant is reported to relevant regulatory body.
The Does it Comply campaign coincides with the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council decision to implement the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) where all suppliers of electrical product and some high risk electrical equipment will be registered on a national database.
Mick Logan, Executive Director NECA QLD, then joined Damir on stage and outlined how the EESS will impact the electrical contractor.
NECA & Voltimum are encouraging all its members to take the online training and make the pledge to only buy and install compliant electrical products.
