Eliminate Problematic Glare from Pole Mounted LED Luminaires with the SBP Urban Lighting LIGHTPAD by Performance in Lighting Australasia.

Solutions for Quality & Visibly Comfortable Pole Mounted LED Luminaires
Those new LED pole mounted lights just installed are very efficient and distribute lumens like never before, but the amount of glare has reached unprecedented levels making the installation visually uncomfortable. This unfortunately is a major problem experienced in the uptake and implementation of LED installations commissioned by some early adopters. It’s just not that they are glary up close as most light sources are, the glare can irritate from a long way away. If there are many installed in a row the affect is compounded.

The Cause
Many glary LED luminaires are of basic or poor design whereby the LED modules are surface mounted and don’t use a reflector to control light distribution. The light source is visible and with it comes glare.

The Solution
Efficient ways manufacturers reduce glare is by recessing the LED modules into the luminaire and re-incorporate a high performance reflector and lens. Performance in Lighting Australasia’s new LED pole top luminaire LIGHTPAD delivers a visually comfortable solution with excellent light distribution control and offers the benefits of energy savings associated with LED luminaires.

SECURE LIGHT DISTRIBUTION
The “Secure Light Distribution” system guarantees uniform light distribution without creating shadowy areas. The Reflex Comfort System optic is designed with a double deviation system so that light emitted by each LED is distributed to the entire area to be illuminated, thus creating a layer of light. Therefore, light distributed by LIGHTPAD is the sum of the layers of light of the individual LEDs mounted in the luminaire.
REFLEX COMFORT SYSTEM OPTIC
The “Reflex Comfort System” optic uses a deviation system for the light produced that combines refraction and reflection for each single LED. Through a special lens the luminous refraction visually enlarges the emitting surface of the LEDs. This facilitates increased visual comfort as it eliminates any uncontrolled direct emission. The lens directs the light towards an iridescence-free aluminium reflector, which distributes it in the space to be illuminated, overlapping the area of all other LEDs.]
