The latest figures for 2015 show more and more Kiwi households every year are installing Solar PV.
In 2015 over 3,500 new installations were completed compared with 2,800 the previous year.
Of the total 8,400+ installations now in New Zealand 5600 are in the North Island and 2800 in the South.
With innovative new finance offerings coming onto the market from SEANZ members and the big energy retailers moving to offer their customers solar, 2016 looks to be another hot year for solar.
Other forms of distributed generation also continue to grow, albeit at a slower rate. The number of small wind and micro-hydro installations also grew over 2015 as more people look to secure their own energy supply and fix their electricity bills into the future.
