Legrand takes ‘Smart Living’ to your doorstep

Published: 1 May 2018 Category: Manufacturer News

The Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed the way we live. In today’s digital age, the relationship between humans, technology and everyday devices are closer than ever before. Already a major player in connected living, Legrand has added the latest addition to its ELIOT program.

Legrand takes ‘Smart Living’ to your doorstep

If you’re not familiar with ELIOT, it is a global initiative by Legrand to drive product innovation through cloud-based connectivity and bring together a dynamic ecosystem of ‘smart’ communication.

Adding to the existing ELIOT range, Legrand has just introduced their first Connected Doorbell; a wireless doorbell that communicates directly with the user’s smart device.

How does it work?

Legrand’s ELIOT Connected Doorbell is specifically designed to connect with smart devices, such as tablets or smartphones. Using Wi-Fi connection, it works by sending a push notification to the resident of the home that somebody has rung the doorbell. The doorbell takes a photo of the visitor and sends the picture directly to the owner’s connected device.

The power is in the people’s hands

Hear a knock at the door? No problem! With a simple glance at their push notification, the user has complete control as to whether they wish to open the door. Another great feature is that the resident will still be notified when they are not at home and can communicate with the visitor from wherever they are. This provides all parties with more flexibility, greater control and extra security.

Designed with extra thought

Combining stylish aesthetics, technology and ergonomic design, The ELIOT Connected Doorbell is made to be completely user-centred. This means the resident can use any connected device effortlessly, whilst enjoying the ease and comfort of Smart Living.

The stylish round shape instantly shows off the doorbell’s unique and modern design. You can select from a sleek bold black or a classic white finish that is timeless for any style and taste. This is complemented by the product’s reliable functionality and sophisticated technology that keeps users connected.

‘Smart’ device, ‘smart’ installation

Legrand’s ELIOT Connected Doorbell has also been designed for smooth and simple installation with no Ethernet configuration required. The team at Legrand has also made sure there’s no building involved - the doorbell can simply be fixed to a wall or door using screws, or adhesive to avoid perforation (both screws and double-sided tape are included). The only things needed for set up are: a Wi-Fi connection, a smart device and a great electrician like yourself to install the device.

Watch this YouTube video for a great mini tutorial for how to install the Connected Doorbell.

Other key features include:

  • A large angle camera (95°), which dates pictures and stores them for 30 days,
  • A weatherproof rating of IP44 and impact rating of IK06
  • Personalised doorbell ring tones, which are available choice through the APP
  • Fast smart device configuration
  • Ability to connect with a limitless amount of smart devices
  • An unlimited amount of how many Connected Doorbells can be linked to the same APP
  • A speaker option can also be added and will act as receiver when the bell is called. In the absence of Wi-Fi, the ringer will continue to work seamlessly with the speaker
