Question from Voltimum user: The last LED products I installed were very bright and glary. How can I be sure to avoid using equipment that is not so bright and glary?

Glare is a very big problem with LED lighting. Most commonly, plastic lenses are used to direct the light from an LED chip to where it needs to go. The problem with this method is that direct line of site to the LED chip is always visible from wherever the light needs to go.
The lenses can also be used to intensify the light from the chip, resulting in very glary and sometimes even dangerous beams of light being emitted. Some luminaires use reflectors with recessed LED chips. This method uses a lot more indirect light and results in a much less glary installation.
