It has been one year since New Zealand's largest commercial solar PV system was installed on top of Auckland's Sylvia Park shopping mall. Covering an area equivalent to 12 tennis courts, the system has produced enough energy to supply 62 homes for a year.

The malls owner, Kiwi PropertyTrust's National Facilities Manager Jason Happy has stated the performance expectations have been exceeded one year on as the system has provided 20 per cent of the shopping centre's base building energy needs.
